    The Cavern Club

Liverpool Town Guide, The Beatles Story, 1K The Cavern is perhaps one of the most famous spots in the whole of Liverpool - forever immortalised as the home of The Beatles.

The club is where Brian Epstein first spotted the budding musicians, and between 1961 and 1963 the band played no less than 290 gigs here.

The original Cavern closed in 1966 and in 1973 it was partially demolished. Today however, you can still visit The Cavern Club which has been built on the original site - reputedly with the original bricks.

As you might expect, today's Cavern is essentially a shrine to the Fab Four, and as a result it attracts Beatles fans from all over the world.

The Cavern Club can be found on Matthew Street, a short walk to the west of Lime Street Station.
